JYFL 14 GHz ECRIS
Sr was evaporated by using the JYFL miniature oven at JYFL 14 GHz ECRIS. SrO powder was mixed with Zr powder and then a pellet is pressed. The oven was operated around 1000˚C to achieved the beam intensities presented in the table. As a result of heating zirconium reacts with SrO and forms ZrO. As a result, metallic Sr is evaporated into the plasma.
Mixing gas: Oxygen
Microwave power: 400 -500 W
Acceleration voltage: 10 kV (JYFL extraction system)
Material consumption: 4 mg/hN/A
Note: Three short separate tests were performed with Zr. We do not have any information about the long term stability/durability.
