Magnesium at JYFL

JYFL 6.4 GHz ECRIS

Mg was produced by the MIVOC method using magnesocene (Mg(C5H5)2). Material Safety DataSheet can be found here.

Mixing gas: Nitrogen (5 % magnesocene, 95 % nitrogen)

Microwave power: 135 W (20 % to first stage and 80 % to second stage)

Acceleration voltage:  10 kV

Material consumption: N/A

Note 1: The shown intensities have been produced in 1996 using the JYFL 6.4 GHz ECRIS in its original configuration, i.e. in 2-stage operation mode resulting in very modest performance.

Note 2: The even charge states of 24Mg ions are overlapped by carbon. Intensities of those charge states were calculated from the measured intensities of 26Mg ions.
