The 14 GHz AECR ion source is build according the designs from the 14 GHz AECR ion source at Jyvaskyla which is build according the designs of the AECR-U source at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. All parts of the source were either manufactured at KVI-CART or commercially purchased. An interesting fact might be that the main solenoids originate from a CAPRICE type of ion source. First ion beam was extracted in 2005.
