on source: The yttrium beam was produced with JYFL 14 GHz ECRIS using the JYFL foil oven.  The metallic yttrium was placed in the molybdenum crucible. The ion source was tuned for Y21+ beam while nitrogen was used as a mixing gas. After the test, we discovered that the crucible was damaged for an unknown reason. It would probably be appropriate to use tungsten crucible to avoid this problem. Helium should be tested as a mixing as well.

Method: Foil oven

Mixing gas: Nitrogen 

Microwave power: 

Extraction voltage: 10 kV

Note: The yttrium can spontaneously catch fire if exposed to air. Read carefully material safety data sheets and handle the material in accordance with the instructions.
