Most of you will come to GSI by plane arriving at Frankfurt International Airport.
If you would like to book a flight with Ryanair Company please be aware that the destination airport is Frankfurt Hahn which is around 130 km far away from Frankfurt City and from GSI.
As soon as you arrive at Frankfurt International you may take the public transportation suggested on our website to get directly to GSI. Please be aware you may have problems with the late arrival if you plan to use public transportation. You can get to Wixhausen train station up to late night with buses/trains but the last bus “ G” from Wixhausen train station to GSI is at 19:30. Later you may have to walk around 30 minutes from Wixhausen train station to GSI.
We suggest the colleagues accommodated at our guest House to take a taxi at Frankfurt Airport. GSI has an agreement with a taxi company offering a direct connection to GSI and to Arheilgen with a special fare. Please inform us if you need this transportation and we I will book it through our secretary's office
If you accommodate in Darmstadt you may get the AIR Liner Bus at Frankfurt Airport to Darmstadt City. You may find here the link to the actual timetable:
Please be aware that the information about the transportation from Darmstadt to GSI on our website is not actual since the direct connection from Darmstadt to Arheilgen with the tram 6,7,8 is interrupted because of some construction works. Here you may find the actual transportation map:

To get to GSI from Darmstadt Luisenplatz you have to take the bus 4E to Nordbad and then the tram 4 to Arheilgen (Darmstadt-Arheilgen Dreieichweg Station) where the bus G provides a direct connection to GSI as detailed indicated our website. Here you may find the actual timetables:
