Introduction: MIVOC is a simple method to produce metal ion beams. In this method a volatile chemical compound  including the element of interest and having a sufficient saturated vapour pressure at room temperature is placed into a vacuum chamber (for example Fe(C5H5)2). The chamber is connected to the ion source and the material is let to flow into the plasma through a dozing valve. The molecule breaks down, its components will be ionised and extracted as an ion beam. More information about the method is presented here.
